Malware

The LRZ provides Antivirus Software from Sophos for staff and students at free disposal. Updates are only available inside the "Münchener Wissenschaftsnetz" (MWN) to which you can connect via VPN . If malware is already on your computer, we advise the use of a Live-CD with Anti-Virus Software. We also advise the Live-DVD Knoppicilin from Heise Verlag, which can be obtained at the IT systems group. If only a few files should be tested, you can upload these files to https://www.virustotal.com, as long as there is no conflict with privacy agreements. The files will be checked by more than three dozen antivirus programs.
