E-Mail

Webmail is provided as our standard e-mail client. If you like to use any other e-mail clients, please follow these instructions:
  • Receiving E-Mails:
    Server: mail.in.tum.de
    IMAP4 with SSL-encryption (Port 993)
    or
    POP3 with SSL-encryption (Port 995)
  • Sending E-Mails:
    Server: mail.in.tum.de
    SMTP with SSL-encryption (Port 465)
The use of IMAP4 with SSL-encryption is strongly advised. The encrypted connection is secured by certificates issued by the TUM certification authority. In certain cases it is possible that only the root certificate of "Deutsche Telekom Root CA 2" is registered. If missing certificates are not imported automatically during the first connection of your device with the e-mail client, you have to download them at LRZ and import them. The following certificates are important: It is sufficient if the certificate of "Deutsche Telekom Root CA 2" is considered trustworthy. For further information please browse the LRZ Website
